Curriculum Overview

Our School's Curriculum + its Design

Please find information about our curriculum below.  If you need to know any more about the curriculum, please contact the school on the main telephone number and we can discuss this further.

At Hambridge Community Primary, the curriculum is central to all that we do and ambitious for all. Our curriculum is purposeful and relevant to our children and their lives. Our aim is to engage our children in enjoyable learning experiences which will enable them to develop the skills that they will need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. We hope to instil in them a lifelong love of learning which will motivate them to flourish. The curriculum at Hambridge provides a broad balanced and enriched education, which places a high importance on English, Mathematics and an understanding of the wider world and our local community. Our curriculum develops character and broadens their experiences.

Our Curriculum Design

All of our planning is based around the National Curriculum 2014. Pupils in Foundation Stage follow the New Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

1)The intent that we have for our curriculum or what we want to happen for our pupils as we plan it.

2)The implementation or how we are going to deliver the curriculum in imaginative, exciting and  effective ways.

3)The impact which the planned and delivered curriculum has on our pupils in the form of  their  written, spoken and active outcomes.

An example of the three key areas applied to a subject can be seen below with our school's reading document:
