Phonics & Reading 

We follow the Twinkl Phonics programme, using daily, structured sessions to build confidence in reading and writing. Children bring home a fully decodable reading book matched to their phonics level. We also revise tricky words and phonics sounds regularly to support early writing.

Our Learning This Term 

Science 

We are learning how to group different types of animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. 

Geography / Understanding the World 

Our topic this term is Kenya. We will explore animals, people, and landscapes, and compare Kenya with the UK. 

Art 

Children will design their own mosaic-style tiles inspired by South African artist Esther Mahlangu. 

ICT 

Our focus is digital writing. We will also learn about age ratings on games and apps and why they are important. 

PE 

This term’s sports are athletics and dodgeball. 

Religion and Worldviews

We are exploring the theme: 'The good news that Jesus brings'. 

PSHE (SCARF) 

Our topic this term is 'Being My Best'.
